WORLDSTAGE SUMMER ASSOCIATE PROGRAM
WorldStage, one of the premier entertainment technology and staging companies in the US, is pleased to offer a summer associate program for aspiring technicians, programmers, or project managers. The program is intended for college students seeking training in their chosen field, in real conditions, working along side the top veterans in the industry. Successful applicants will be placed in one of our facilities, which are located in New York, New Jersey, Northern and Southern California.
After successfully completing the program, the associate may be offered a full-time position at WorldStage commencing post-graduation.
WORLDSTAGE SUMMER ASSOCIATE PROGRAM FAQ’S
• The program is offered to select college students interested in pursuing a career in event technical production, professional audio, video, lighting or media programming.
• The program is offered by application only and will be offered to a limited number of applicants each summer.
• The commitment requires at least 20 hours per week.
• The program offers multiple specialty tracks, which may be combined to provide the most flexible learning environment.
The tracks include:
Project Management: The associate will work alongside a veteran technical manager and be exposed to the full range of production processes including system design, show logistics,budget preparation, crew management and inventory management.
Audio Technical: The associate will experience the audio design and implementation process from beginning to end, spending time in the shop preparing equipment and in the field seeing it deployed. Hands-on training will be provided for all types of pro audio gear including speaker arrays, digital consoles, digital intercoms and wireless microphone systems.
Video Technical: Event video technology includes everything from camera systems to monumental display screens. The associate will experience the video design and implementation process from beginning to end, spending time in the shop preparing equipment and in the field seeing it deployed. Hands-on training will be provided for all types of video gear including cameras, switchers, hi-res LED screens, HD & 4K video projectors and processors.
Media Programming: As one of the top media server providers, WorldStage can provide the summer associate with an unparalleled opportunity to learn about current media server technology including WATCHOUT, Pandora’s Box, d3 Technologies and Touch Designer. The summer program includes hands-on experience in content preparation, show programming and system design.
Lighting Technical (offered only in New Jersey): The lighting program for summer associates will provide a wealth of knowledge and experience in working with today’s state of the art lighting systems. System design and set up of moving light systems, LED lighting, conventional lighting along with lessons on console programming using technology from GrandMA and ETC.
Systems Engineer (offered only in New Jersey): Systems engineering training provides the summer associate an in-depth experience with some of the most complex AV systems we create. System design, CAD documentation, rack design and other specialized skills are taught in a hands-on fashion.
• The WorldStage Summer Associate program provides a stipend to help cover living and transportation expenses. Out of town students are directed to student housing organizations such as www.studenthousing.org/ that provide reasonably priced housing for summer students and interns.
