In 2007, Scharff Weisberg, based in New York, and Video Applications, based in Southern California, merged and created a new organization with a larger spectrum of services while maintaining the legacy principles of customer service and quality.
At our core, we are technologists with a comprehensive understanding of audio, video, lighting and media networking systems. Just as importantly, we are also experienced project management professionals with extensive logistical know-how.
The combination of these attributes provides clients with not only the best technology for their projects, but the comfort that the technology will be deployed by technical professionals on-time, within budget, free from “gotcha’s”, “by the ways” and “that’s extras”.
A thirty-year history of success in the professional audio business continues today with a portfolio of audio systems available for rent, sale or as part of comprehensive staging packages. Designed specifically for audiences from 50 to 10,000, systems cover corporate, theatrical or musical performances of all types. In addition, WorldStage has a specialty in multi-channel wireless microphone and intercom systems for corporate, broadcast and theatrical applications.
Many clients rely on WorldStage not only for great people and equipment packages but also for design and innovation. In collaboration with our design engineers, WorldStage clients can see their ideas take form with system design, budgeting, 3D visualizations – even custom software and applications – all based on our years of experience with the widest variety of projects.
An acknowledged leader in video display applications, WorldStage has pioneered techniques such as wide-screen edge-blending and now continues that legacy with advanced projection and LED video techniques. Image mapping and tracking as well as unique LED configurations are joined with state-of-the-art media servers, HD camera and video playback systems to create vibrant visual environments of the highest quality.
The systems built to support video productions are designed with fast set-up in mind, which reduces set-up time for straightforward as well as complicated applications. No matter how large the image display or how small, WorldStage can be counted on to deliver extraordinary results.
For world-class event venues that wish to provide their clients with a premier level of AV support, WorldStage offers on-site facilities. Currently the provider of choice at many cultural institutions in New York and Southern California, WorldStage is also the exclusive AV services provider at Jazz at Lincoln Center and Metropolitan Pavilion.
The full-service lighting shop located in our New Jersey warehouse builds on the legacy of WorldStage quality service. A multi-million dollar inventory of current-model lighting equipment that includes conventional, LED and moving fixtures, along with the requisite support equipment is meticulously prepped prior to each project. Our lighting clients know that the lighting packages they book at WorldStage will arrive in excellent condition, pre-addressed and ready to rock no matter how large the system.
WorldStage maintains a sales and service staff for clients that wish to purchase their own gear or for permanent installations where renting is not a cost-effective option. Service and repair of equipment is also available within the New Jersey location for WorldStage customers.

In 2007 Scharff Weisberg merged with Video Applications to form WorldStage, perhaps the most diverse company in the entertainment technology field; not only in terms of the services we provide but also in the markets we serve.
The basic definition is: WorldStage provides Audio, Video and Lighting technologies to the corporate, artistic and theatrical communities.
The more detailed answer is that we offer the most experienced and conscientious staff in the business and all the tools they require to provide clients outstanding service. Add to that a full service lighting division that is the market leader in quality of service. And, finally, a design and research division that specializes in designing the systems and configurations that are the most cost-effective and innovative around.
This combination of technology and experience is utilized by producers, designers, artists as well as other perfectly normal folk, to help realize their vision whether it exists on a screen, stage, fashion runway or high-school auditorium. Our services might be found at 20,000 attendee developers conference, a Fortune 500 product announcement, a Tony-award winning Broadway musical, a wildly inventive media piece by a soon-to-be-famous artist or an extravagant benefit gala attended by stars of screen and stage. The common thread behind all of this diversity is a dedication to customer service that is manifest in everything we do.
